I will be writing my thoughts on the season of Christmas in the future. For now, suffice it to say our family has struggled with the reality of what the season actually it, what it came from and what it claims to be. We have thus decided to try and distance ourselves from the celebration as much as possible. I found the following article to be a great metaphor concerning the season. I would love to hear your comments.

Why do churches put words in God's mouth? It makes us looks stupid and makes God look - silent.

As an add-on to what Tony said....
...Why do WE add the 'traditions of men' to our faith as though they were 'ordinances' given by God? THIS reveals our willingness to receive council of men rather than God...in other words, we look STUPID. I have seen otherwise sound biblical exegetes become really silly with scripture in defense of their own subjective whimsy when this subject is brought up.
